This quote actually happens to be my reality, who would have thought eh??!! I am sure by now you are wondering what I am on about… here is my story: So I go to this wedding looking fiiinnnnee and all shades of HOT! Yes – modesty isn’t one of my greatest attributes, wearing a figure hugging floor length v neck red number from one of my favourite designers.
I was single, happy, carefree, independent and not looking for love because at that point in my life it was just hard work. I had tried all I knew to do and it hadn’t worked so my resolve was that love was just going to have to find me itself! About time love also did some work! It was a great wedding in many respects, many beautiful well-dressed guests littered the room. I absolutely loved the venue too. It was a historic building filled with many quirky features. It had high ceilings with beautiful chandeliers hanging from them. The chandeliers sparkled and the ambience lights hit them at the right angles. This gave the room such a warm romantic feel, all was perfect!
Oh, and before I forget, the wedding band was amazing. I wanted to shrink them all, pop them in my purse and let them out when I got home so they could play me sweet music round the clock.
I was having a good time eating the delicious food served and generally having fun with my friends when suddenly I looked up and there love was, in the form of a handsome dapper guy in a nicely tailored tuxedo and a crisp white shirt *sigh* let me just pause here and let you imagine him for a moment.
Ok! so moving on, because I really liked what I saw, I had to take a second look. There was just something about this guy that made him stand out. He oozed confidence, the sort of confidence you have when you know you look good; chest out, straight back with your head up high kind of stance. I was sold and I knew I had to know more about this guy in the beautifully cut tux but because I am a shy girl (I promise I really am!) I had to pray that he noticed me too. Guess what? he actually did! Yay me! So we introduced ourselves, got chatting, a little bit of flirting and dancing and at the end of the night, we swapped numbers.
Fast forward today, we are together and happily in love. As I reflect while I type this, I think to myself would I have found love that day if love hadn’t decided to STANDOUT? Personally, I don’t think so but I’ll let you form your own opinion. However, I’ll like to leave you with this; let your clothing always reflect the image you want to project. Toodles!
